Set up once. Play offline every time.

Step 1 of 6

Install Steam

Skip this if Steam is already on your PC. Download it from the official Steam website, install it, and open it.

Sign in with the account we sent you

1. Enter the username and password from your delivery email.
2. Tick Remember me so you stay signed in.
3. Click Sign in. Steam will ask for a Steam Guard code.
4. Get the code from our code page, then type it in straight away. Codes expire in about 30 seconds.

Install the game

1. Click Library at the top of Steam.
2. Pick your game from the list on the left.
3. Click Install. If the button says Stream, click the small arrow next to it and choose This computer.
4. Choose where to install (the default is fine), click Install, accept the terms if asked, then Finish.

One-time setup

1. In your Library, right-click the game and choose Properties.
2. Under General, switch off Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud. If you don't see it, skip this.

Step 5 of 6

Launch once while online

Do this one time, before you ever switch Steam to Offline Mode. Steam should still be online, as it is right after you sign in.

1. In your Library, click Play on your game.
2. Wait until the game has fully opened, up to the intro or main menu.
3. Press Alt + F4 to close it.
4. Now go to Step 6 and switch to Offline Mode.

Example: with God of War Ragnarök, launch it once online, wait for it to load, press Alt + F4, then go offline and launch it again.

If you see "Something went wrong" when launching, message us with your order number and we'll sort it out.

Step 6 of 6

Go offline, then play

1. Click Steam in the top-left corner.
2. Choose Go Offline…
3. Click Restart in Offline Mode.
4. When Steam reopens, launch your game from the Library. It now runs offline.

Do this every time you play.
